Harden Healthcare Announces Addition of
Auxi Health to Family of Companies
Texas-Based Harden Healthcare Meets Increasing Home Health Care Demands
with Extended Continuum of Care
June 6, 2007 -- AUSTIN, TX—Harden
Healthcare is pleased to announce that the Austin, Texas-based company is
expanding its commitment to healthcare with a significant investment in Auxi
Health, a home health care provider offering comprehensive services currently
with 21 regional branches in Texas, Iowa, Missouri and West Virginia. The
investment in Auxi Health represents Harden’s dedication to expanding its
business model of offering a full continuum of care, including skilled nursing,
assisted living, rehab, hospice and now, home health care.
On June 1, 2007, the ownership change became effective for Texas, Iowa and
Missouri. The transition for Auxi West Virginia is subject to Certificate of
Need (CON) approval and is anticipated to take a little longer. Harden
Healthcare will manage the West Virginia operations during the transition for
the benefit of Auxi Health, Inc. until CON approval has been granted by the
state of West Virginia.
“Home health care is an important service for which there is a visible and
growing need, particularly as the baby boom generation ages,” Lew Little, CEO of
Harden Healthcare, said. “We are pleased to add Auxi Health to our family of
companies, providing another important dimension to Harden’s continuum of care.”
Auxi Health was established in March of 1999 with a merger of eight home health
care entities. The company provides a full complement of services including
continuous and intermittent nursing care, as well as physical therapy,
respiratory therapy and home health aide services. In addition to health care
services, Auxi Health provides home medical equipment, supplemental staffing and
management contracting.
Auxi Health is currently headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. The headquarters
will be transitioned from Chicago to Austin in the next few months. With the
addition of Auxi Health, Harden approximates it will oversee more than 2,000 new
employees throughout the Southeastern and Central United States.
“This new partnership with Harden Healthcare will provide additional resources
to Auxi Health, enabling our company to continue to provide excellence in home
health care for our patients and their families,” Mary Kaye Kramme, regional
vice president of Auxi Health’s Missouri region, said. “We are proud to be
associated with Harden and are excited about the synergy of the combined
companies.”
